When Jerry and Debbie Margrave took ownership in 1979, Jerry brought over a decade of hands-on experience—starting in 1968 as a high school student sweeping floors and working his way up to president.

Today, he leads a team committed to excellence in every project. Operating from a state-of-the-art 20,000-square-foot facility, we specialize in custom canvas awnings, industrial sewing, and high-quality fabrication.

Our expertise and precision have earned us a reputation for durability, design, and unmatched customer satisfaction. In 2001, we expanded with a modern showroom, new offices, and an upgraded sewing and warehouse space—winning the Beautiful Bakersfield Award. By 2002, we opened a second location in downtown Bakersfield. Jerry’s commitment to craftsmanship was recognized with the prestigious Master Fabric Craftsman (MFC) certification, a distinction held by only 220 professionals worldwide.

Today, Specialty Trim & Awning is Bakersfield’s largest custom design and awning shop, serving businesses, homeowners, and government agencies alike.
